Suicide Is the 2nd Leading Cause of Death
You are working with hurting people every day. Some of them are suffering in silence. Some of them feel completely alone. Discovering Joy was built to reach them — in one hour.
Discovering Joy: A Life-Saving Workshop
A One-Hour Workshop That Changes Everything
What is Discovering Joy?
Discovering Joy is a structured, facilitated workshop designed for youth groups, classrooms, churches, camps, and community organizations. It uses a powerful, tested method to break through the silence of pain — and open the door to healing, hope, and genuine human connection.
A professional counselor who experienced the workshop said: This would save lives!

How It Works
The Method
Part 1 — Where Are You Hurting?
Every young person in the room is handed an anonymous worksheet. No names. No judgment. No one can tell who marked what. They read through a list of honest questions about pain, rejection, loneliness, failure, fear, and brokenness — and mark YES to the ones that are real in their lives. Then they fold the paper and drop it in a bucket. The worksheets are mixed together and redistributed anonymously. The facilitator reads each question aloud. If the paper you're holding says YES, you stand up. When the question 'Have you ever felt rejected?' is read — almost every person in the room stands up. And every person in that room looks around and thinks: Oh my gosh. I am not the only one. In that single moment, isolation breaks. For some young people, it may quiet suicidal thoughts that were fueled by the lie that they are alone in their pain.
Part 2 — Discovering Joy
After the worksheet exercise, the facilitator leads the group through a guided conversation that covers: • Why pain and brokenness are real — and why they are not the end • How God loves them exactly as they are • How serving others with caring and compassion brings real joy to the giver • Practical next steps for their own journey toward joy
